Husky Orientation and Welcome Leaders

Get Involved

At Bloomsburg University, everyone’s here to put the work into improving their lives and lifting up those around them. After all, not all answers are found in books – some are discovered while volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, fundraising for Relay for Life, or donating your time to the surrounding community.

That’s why our campus isn’t built just for classroom learning, it’s also built for personal growth. It’s a social laboratory designed for you to challenge preconceived notions, develop your identity, and have fun while doing it.

With more than 250 registered student clubs and organizations, there’s a group just for you – including opportunities in community service, faith, the arts, business, entertainment, and athletics. So whether you're planning campus events with the Program Board, climbing Mt. Washington on a Quest Outdoor Adventure, or competing in an intramural basketball tournament – your experiences on campus with 8,000 fellow Huskies will be an essential part of your story and a key part of your journey to success.

A part of something bigger

The Big Event
The Big Event clean-up crew

With more than 2,000 volunteers, the Community Government Association's annual The Big Event has become Bloomsburg University’s largest community service event. Each spring, student volunteers venture to more than 100 job sites across town and in local neighborhoods tackling a variety of chores such as raking, painting, gardening, mulching, removing debris, digging, and various spring-cleaning duties. The single-day community service event gives students the opportunity to say “thank you" to Bloomsburg area residents and show appreciation for the community we live, learn, and work in.
